What is a good competitive moveset for Abra? These builds have been optimized for Pokemon competing in Sword/Shield Single Battles. The movesets and EVs have been specifically calibrated to deal the most amount of damage to the largest group of potentially common opponents and typing threats for the Sword/Shield generation metagame.
Abra is a stupendous Psychic-typed Pokemon. Abra is not a Pokemon anyone usually expects sees on the battlefield. Abra can be quite a contender in the LC tier (Little Cup). Abra is weak to Bug, Dark, and Ghost-typed attacks.

Special Sweeper Abra (Magic Guard)
Abra is a fabulous Special Sweeper for single battles. It tries to take down the opponent's team with high-damaging special attacks. Focus Sash helps protect Abra from being one-shotted and allowing it to atleast use a crucial move when brought out. Life Orb boosts the power of Abra's damaging moves by 1.3x but it then loses 1/10 its max HP immediately after the attack. However, Magic Guard negates the recoil damage from Life Orb while still increasing the damage making it an amazing item for Abra. With Magic Guard, Abra can only be damaged by direct attacks. Shadow Ball or Dazzling Gleam are added to provide additional threat coverage.
◆ Psyshock is a special STAB-boosted 80-base power Psychic-type move (damages target based on defense, not special defense).
◆ Foul Play is a physical 95-base power Dark-type move (uses target's attack stat in damage calculation).
◆ Energy Ball is a special 90-base power Grass-type move (10% chance to lower the target's special defense by 1 stage).
◆ Grass Knot is a special 0-base power Grass-type move (more power the heavier the target).
◆ Shadow Ball is a special 80-base power Ghost-type move (20% chance to lower the target's special defense by 1 stage).
◆ Dazzling Gleam is a special 80-base power Fairy-type move (no additional effect. Hits adjacent foes).
