What is a good competitive moveset for Larvesta? These builds have been optimized for Pokemon competing in Sword/Shield Single Battles. The movesets and EVs have been specifically calibrated to deal the most amount of damage to the largest group of potentially common opponents and typing threats for the Sword/Shield generation metagame.
Larvesta is an outstanding Bug and Fire-typed Pokemon. Larvesta is not a Pokemon anyone usually expects sees on the battlefield. Larvesta can be quite a contender in the LC tier (Little Cup). Larvesta is weak to Flying, Rock, and Water-typed attacks.

Physical Sweeper Larvesta (Flame Body)
Larvesta is a pretty decent Physical Sweeper for single battles. This moveset attempts to take down the opponent's team with brute physical power. The Shell Bell item option is to help Larvesta recover from the recoil damage it may take from Double-Edge, Flare Blitz and Wild Charge. With Flame Body, 30% chance a pokemon making contact with Larvesta will be burned. Facade's damage doubles when the user has a status affliction. With a Charti Berry equipped to it, halves damage taken from a supereffective rock-type attack then the Charti Berry gets consumed.
◆ Flame Wheel is a physical STAB-boosted 60-base power Fire-type move (10% chance to burn the target. Thaws Larvesta).
◆ Double-Edge is a physical 120-base power Normal-type move (has 33% recoil).
◆ Facade is a physical 70-base power Normal-type move (power doubles if Larvesta is burn/poison/paralyzed).
◆ Leech Life is a physical STAB-boosted 80-base power Bug-type move (Larvesta recovers 50% of the damage dealt).
◆ U-turn is a physical STAB-boosted 70-base power Bug-type move (Larvesta switches out after damaging the target).
◆ Wild Charge is a physical 90-base power Electric-type move (has 1/4 recoil).
◆ Zen Headbutt is a physical 80-base power Psychic-type move (20% chance to make the target flinch).

Larvesta Physical Sweeper (Volcarona*)
Larvesta is a stupendous Physical Sweeper for single battles. It's purpose is to take down the opponent's team with brute physical power. Larvesta is not a Pokemon anyone usually expects sees on the battlefield until Eviolte was added to the mix. If Eviolite is held by a Pokémon that is not fully evolved, it will raises the Defense and Special Defense of that Pokemon by 50%. With Swarm, at 1/3 or less of its max hp Larvesta's attacking stat is 1.5x with bug attacks. Larvesta s similar to Trapinch:they both have an attack stat higher or equal to their evolution(s). Larvesta has a base 80 attack, while Volcarona has only 60. Then again, Volcarona is special.

◆ Flare Blitz is a physical STAB-boosted 120-base power Fire-type move (has 33% recoil. 10% chance to burn. Thaws Larvesta).

◆ Morning Sun is a status move (heals your Larvesta by a weather-dependent amount).
