Optimize Mawile-mega's EVs for Sword/Shield

Movesets for Singles

What is a good competitive moveset for Mawile-mega? These builds have been optimized for Pokemon competing in Sword/Shield Single Battles. The movesets and EVs have been specifically calibrated to deal the most amount of damage to the largest group of potentially common opponents and typing threats for the Sword/Shield generation metagame.

Mawile is a sensational Steel and Fairy-typed Pokemon. It's super common to find yourself dealing with Mawile when battling in the 8th generation meta. Mawile's only type-related weaknesses are Fire and Ground.

Physical Sweeper Mawile-Mega (Huge Power)

Mawile is a marvelous Physical Sweeper. It's primary goal is to take down the opponent's team with brute physical power. With Huge Power, Mawile's attack is doubled.

Mawile-Mega Physical Tank (Fairy Queen Mawile)

Mawile is a remarkable Physical Tank. It is designed to take a nice amount of physical hits while dealing some decent damage. With Intimidate as it's normal ability it can cripple any serious physical blows your opponent might try on ya just before you mega evolve and gain Huge Power. I usually go for a Swords dance first turn which causes Mawile's already insane attack power to go through the roof!!! However it DOES still remain slow so keeping it bulky is a must and use Sucker Punch to the best of it's ability.

Play Rough is a physical STAB-boosted 90-base power Fairy-type move (10% chance to lower the target's attack by 1 stage).
Iron Head is a physical STAB-boosted 80-base power Steel-type move (30% chance to flinch the target).
Sucker Punch is a physical priority-increased 70-base power Dark-type move (usually goes first. fails if target is not attacking).
Swords Dance is a status move (raises your Mawile's attack by 2 stages).
Stone Edge is a physical 100-base power Rock-type move (high critical hit ratio).

Species: Mawile-Mega
Item: Mawilite
Ability: Intimidate

Mawile-Mega Physical Tank (Utility)

Mawile is a spectacular Physical Tank. It is primarily designed to take a substantial amount of physical hits while dealing some decent damage.

Stone Edge is a physical 100-base power Rock-type move (high critical hit ratio).
