The movesets and EVs are designed to maximize damage against common opponents and threats in the X/Y metagame. Check out the expert movesets below to boost your battle performance and dominate your opponents!
Prepare for battle with Budew, a brilliant Pokémon boasting Grass and Poison attributes. Budew is not a Pokémon anyone usually expects to see on the battlefield. In the LC tier (Little Cup), it's a fierce competitor. It is weak to Fire, Flying, Ice, and Psychic-typed attacks. Ready to elevate your game with Budew's movesets? They're right below!
Budew is an awesome Special Sweeper. It's primary goal is to take down the opponent's team with high-damaging special attacks. Choice Specs will increase the damage of Budew's special moves by 1.5x but will lock you into the first move you pick. Life Orb boosts the power of Budew's damaging moves by 1.3x but it then loses 1/10 its max HP immediately after the attack. With Leaf Guard, if sunny day is active Budew cannot be statused and rest will fail for it.
♦ Leaf Storm is a special STAB-boosted 130-base power Grass-type move (lowers your Budew's special attack by 2 stages). ♦ Energy Ball is a special STAB-boosted 90-base power Grass-type move (10% chance to lower the target's special defense by 1 stage). ♦ Sludge Bomb is a special STAB-boosted 90-base power Poison-type move (30% chance to poison the target). ♦ Venoshock is a special STAB-boosted 65-base power Poison-type move (power doubles if the target is poisoned). ♦ Shadow Ball is a special 80-base power Ghost-type move (20% chance to lower the target's special defense by 1 stage). ♦ Extrasensory is a special 80-base power Psychic-type move (10% chance to flinch the target).

Note: The damage listed here under Versus is not actually calculated using the in-game damage formula. It is simply calculated using typing weaknesses and resistances from the selected type-matchup modifier along with STAB (if applied) to help sort through and give a general idea as to how powerful certain moves might be towards that selected typing after modifiers are applied. Several moves listed here may have additional effects that might alter actual damage output which are not factored on this specific list. Use damage calculators to find actual damage amounts.
