Movesets for Singles
Looking for a competitive moveset for Luxray? These builds are optimized for Black/White Single Battles. The movesets and EVs are designed to maximize damage against common opponents and threats in the Black/White metagame. Check out the expert movesets below to boost your battle performance and dominate your opponents!
Meet Luxray, a high-quality Pokémon ready to dominate with its Electric typing! Luxray is a common Pokémon to see in the BW metagame. Its only type-related weakness is Ground. Explore the movesets below to see how Luxray performs in battles.
Luxray is a wonderful Physical Sweeper. It tries to take down the opponent's team with brute physical power. White Herb will reset Luxray's negative stat changes once (specifically for when it uses Superpower). Flame Orb will burn Luxray at the end of the turn which will activate Luxray's Guts ability. Use Protect to help guarantee the Orb activates on your first turn. With Guts, if Luxray is statused its attack is 1.5x; ignores burn halving physical damage. Facade's damage doubles when the user has a status affliction. Combine that with Guts to seriously give Luxray a sweet boost.
♦ Facade is a physical 70-base power Normal-type move (power doubles if Luxray is burn/poison/paralyzed). ♦ Frustration is a physical 0-base power Normal-type move (max 102 power at minimum happiness). ♦ Wild Charge is a physical STAB-boosted 90-base power Electric-type move (has 1/4 recoil). ♦ Spark is a physical STAB-boosted 65-base power Electric-type move (30% chance to paralyze the target). ♦ Superpower is a physical 120-base power Fighting-type move (lowers your Luxray's attack and defense by 1 stage). ♦ Double Kick is a physical 30-base power Fighting-type move (hits 2 times in one turn). ♦ Protect is a status move (prevents moves from affecting your Luxray this turn).

Extended Move Details:Additional move information such as Risk versus Reward Statistics or Move power versus specific type-matchups
Damage Modifiers:
Type-matchup: Sort through and determine which moves would best work versus an opponent of the typing you select.
|
Note: The damage listed here under Versus is not actually calculated using the in-game damage formula. It is simply calculated using typing weaknesses and resistances from the selected type-matchup modifier along with STAB (if applied) to help sort through and give a general idea as to how powerful certain moves might be towards that selected typing after modifiers are applied. Several moves listed here may have additional effects that might alter actual damage output which are not factored on this specific list. Use damage calculators to find actual damage amounts.
