Lileep is a marvelous Special Sweeper. The purpose of this moveset is to take down the opponent's team with high-damaging special attacks. Years before Generation IV, a move's damage category was determined by its type. Lileep is not a Pokemon anyone usually expects sees on the battlefield without an Eviolite. If Eviolite is held by a Pokémon that is not fully evolved, it will raises the Defense and Special Defense of that Pokemon by 50%. Life Orb boosts the power of Lileep's damaging moves by 1.3x but it then loses 1/10 its max HP immediately after the attack. With Suction Cups, Lileep cannot be forced to switch out by another pokemon's attack or item.

Solar Beam is a special STAB-boosted 120-base power Grass-type move (charges turn 1. hits turn 2. no charge in sunlight).
Giga Drain is a special STAB-boosted 60-base power Grass-type move (Lileep recovers 50% of the damage dealt).
