What is a good competitive moveset for Mewtwo-mega-x? These builds have been optimized for Pokemon competing in Sun/Moon Single Battles. The movesets and EVs have been specifically calibrated to deal the most amount of damage to the largest group of potentially common opponents and typing threats for the Sun/Moon generation metagame.
Mewtwo is pretty popular Psychic and Fighting-typed Pokemon. It's almost common to find yourself dealing with Mewtwo when battling in the 7th generation meta. Mewtwo is considered strong enough to compete with Uber tiered Pokemon. Mewtwo is weak to Fairy, Flying, and Ghost-typed attacks.

Mewtwo is a legendary Physical Sweeper for single battles. It tries to take down the opponent's team with brute physical power. With Steadfast, if Mewtwo flinches its speed is raised by 1 stage. With a Mewtwonite X equipped to it, if held by a mewtwo, this item allows it to mega evolve in battle.
◆ Zen Headbutt is a physical STAB-boosted 80-base power Psychic-type move (20% chance to flinch the target).
◆ Double-Edge is a physical 120-base power Normal-type move (has 33% recoil).
◆ Return is a physical 0-base power Normal-type move (max 102 power at maximum happiness).
◆ Foul Play is a physical 95-base power Dark-type move (uses target's attack stat in damage calculation).
◆ Brick Break is a physical STAB-boosted 75-base power Fighting-type move (destroys screens, unless the target is immune).
◆ Drain Punch is a physical STAB-boosted 75-base power Fighting-type move (Mewtwo recovers 50% of the damage dealt).
