What is a good competitive moveset for Chi-yu? These builds have been optimized for Pokemon competing in Scarlet/Violet Single Battles. Throat Spray activates when a Pokemon uses a sound-based move (in this case Snarl) and increases Chi's special attack stat by 2 stages. Life Orb boosts the power of Chi's damaging moves by 1.3x but it then loses 1/10 its max HP immediately after the attack. With Beads of Ruin, the sp. Terastal Phenomenon
In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (Generation 9), each Pokémon in Paldea has a Tera Type. A Pokémon's Tera Type is inactive until the Pokémon Terastallizes, at which time the Pokémon's type will change to its Tera Type.
There are 18 types, meaning there are countless combinations of Pokémon and Tera Types. Terastallizing a Pokémon allows you to enhance your battle strategies by increasing the power of any moves that have the same type as your Pokémon’s Tera Type or by changing your Pokémon’s weaknesses.
Fighting moves are bad against Ghost.
Ground moves are bad against Flying.
Rock moves are bad against Steel/Fighting/Ground.
Water moves are bad against Water/Dragon/Grass.
The most recommended Terastral Type for Chi-yu is: Ghost, Flying, Steel, Fighting, Ground, Water, Dragon or Grass

Def stat of all other active pokemon is reduced by 25%. Hex was added to provide additional threat coverage.
