Movesets for Singles
Looking for a competitive moveset for Poochyena? These builds are optimized for X/Y Single Battles. The movesets and EVs are designed to maximize damage against common opponents and threats in the X/Y metagame. Check out the expert movesets below to boost your battle performance and dominate your opponents!
Poochyena is here! This noteworthy Pokémon is Dark-typed and ready to shine! Poochyena is not a Pokémon anyone usually expects to see on the battlefield. It can be quite a contender in the LC tier (Little Cup). It is weak to Bug, Fairy, and Fighting-typed attacks. Curious about Poochyena's movesets? Check our suggestions listed below!
Poochyena is a decent Physical Sweeper. It's purpose is to take down the opponent's team with brute physical power. Flame Orb will burn Poochyena at the end of the turn which will activate Poochyena's Quick Feet ability. Use Protect to help guarantee the Orb activates on your first turn. With Quick Feet, if Poochyena is statused its speed is 1.5x; ignores speed drop from paralysis. Facade's damage doubles when the user has a status affliction. Combine that with Quick Feet to seriously give Poochyena a sweet boost.
♦ Facade is a physical 70-base power Normal-type move (power doubles if Poochyena is burn/poison/paralyzed). ♦ Double-Edge is a physical 120-base power Normal-type move (has 33% recoil). ♦ Crunch is a physical STAB-boosted 80-base power Dark-type move (20% chance to lower the target's defense by 1 stage). ♦ Sucker Punch is a physical STAB-boosted priority-increased 80-base power Dark-type move (usually goes first. fails if target is not attacking). ♦ Play Rough is a physical 90-base power Fairy-type move (10% chance to lower the target's attack by 1 stage). ♦ Protect is a status move (prevents moves from affecting your Poochyena this turn).

Note: The damage listed here under Versus is not actually calculated using the in-game damage formula. It is simply calculated using typing weaknesses and resistances from the selected type-matchup modifier along with STAB (if applied) to help sort through and give a general idea as to how powerful certain moves might be towards that selected typing after modifiers are applied. Several moves listed here may have additional effects that might alter actual damage output which are not factored on this specific list. Use damage calculators to find actual damage amounts.
