What is a good competitive moveset for Kadabra? These builds have been optimized for Pokemon competing in Red/Blue Single Battles. The movesets and EVs have been specifically calibrated to deal the most amount of damage to the largest group of potentially common opponents and typing threats for the Red/Blue generation metagame.
Kadabra is a stupendous Psychic-typed Pokemon. Kadabra is not a Pokemon anyone usually expects sees on the battlefield. There were no known abilities or equippable items back in the Red/Blue Pokemon games. Kadabra's only type-related weakness is Bug.
Kadabra is a fabulous Special Sweeper. It is meant to take down the opponent's team with high-damaging special attacks. Things definately worked differently in the first generation. Don't forget back before Generation IV, a move's damage category was determined by its type.
♦ Psychic is a special STAB-boosted 90-base power Psychic-type move (33% chance to lower the target's special by 1 stage). ♦ Psybeam is a special STAB-boosted 65-base power Psychic-type move (10% chance to confuse the target). ♦ Recover is a status move (heals your Kadabra by 50% of its max hp). ♦ Thunder Wave is a status move (paralyzes the target). ♦ Reflect is a status move (while active, your Kadabra's defense is doubled).
No additional EV spread were found for this set at this time.Array

Category Filter: Filter movelist to show only Physical, Special, or Status moves
Extended Move Details:Additional move information such as Risk versus Reward Statistics or Move power versus specific type-matchups
Type-matchup: Sort through and determine which moves would best work versus an opponent of the typing you select.
Note: The damage listed here under Versus is not actually calculated using the in-game damage formula. It is simply calculated using typing weaknesses and resistances from the selected type-matchup modifier along with STAB (if applied) to help sort through and give a general idea as to how powerful certain moves might be towards that selected typing after modifiers are applied. Several moves listed here may have additional effects that might alter actual damage output which are not factored on this specific list. Use damage calculators to find actual damage amounts.

Sometimes these can be easily overlooked or forgotten, hence why we find and list them here.
