What is a good competitive moveset for Wimpod? These builds have been optimized for Pokemon competing in Sword/Shield Single Battles. The movesets and EVs have been specifically calibrated to deal the most amount of damage to the largest group of potentially common opponents and typing threats for the Sword/Shield generation metagame.
Wimpod is a pretty decent Bug and Water-typed Pokemon. Wimpod is not a Pokemon anyone usually expects sees on the battlefield. Wimpod can be quite a contender in the LC tier (Little Cup). Wimpod is weak to Electric, Flying, and Rock-typed attacks.

Physical Sweeper Wimpod (Wimp Out)
Wimpod is a stupendous Physical Sweeper for single battles. It's primary goal is to take down the opponent's team with brute physical power. Choice Band will increase the damage of Wimpod's physical moves by 1.5x at the cost of locking you into the first move you pick. Life Orb boosts the power of Wimpod's damaging moves by 1.3x but it then loses 1/10 its max HP immediately after the attack. With Wimp Out, Wimpod switches out when it reaches 1/2 or less of its maximum hp. Metal Claw was added to provide additional threat coverage. Facade's damage doubles when the user has a status affliction.
◆ Skitter Smack is a physical STAB-boosted 70-base power Bug-type move (100% chance to lower target's special attack by 1 stage).
◆ Waterfall is a physical STAB-boosted 80-base power Water-type move (20% chance to make the target flinch).
◆ Aqua Jet is a physical STAB-boosted priority-increased 40-base power Water-type move (usually goes first).
◆ Metal Claw is a physical 50-base power Steel-type move (10% chance to raise your Wimpod's attack by 1 stage).
◆ Facade is a physical 70-base power Normal-type move (power doubles if Wimpod is burn/poison/paralyzed).
◆ Assurance is a physical 60-base power Dark-type move (power doubles if target was damaged this turn).
