What is a good competitive moveset for Dodrio? These builds have been optimized for Pokemon competing in X/Y Single Battles. The movesets and EVs have been specifically calibrated to deal the most amount of damage to the largest group of potentially common opponents and typing threats for the X/Y generation metagame.
Dodrio is a fabulous Normal and Flying-typed Pokemon. It's a common sight to see Dodrio out in the 6th generation battlefield. Dodrio is weak to Electric, Ice, and Rock-typed attacks.

Physical Sweeper Dodrio (Tangled Feet)
Dodrio is popular Physical Sweeper. It was designed to take down the opponent's team with brute physical power. Focus Sash helps protect Dodrio from being one-shotted and allowing it to atleast use a crucial move when brought out. Choice Band will increase the damage of Dodrio's physical moves by 1.5x at the cost of locking you into the first move you pick. With Tangled Feet, Dodrio's evasiveness is doubled as long as it is confused.
♦ Sky Attack is a physical STAB-boosted 140-base power Flying-type move (charges, then hits turn 2. 30% flinch. high crit).
♦ Double-Edge is a physical STAB-boosted 120-base power Normal-type move (has 33% recoil).
♦ Return is a physical STAB-boosted 0-base power Normal-type move (max 102 power at maximum happiness).
♦ Knock Off is a physical 65-base power Dark-type move (1.5x damage if foe holds an item; Note: This will also remove that item).
♦ Thief is a physical 60-base power Dark-type move (if your Dodrio has no item, it steals the target's).
♦ Steel Wing is a physical 70-base power Steel-type move (10% chance to raise your Dodrio's defense by 1 stage).

Dodrio Physical Tank (You Got Guts Kid)
Dodrio is an outstanding Physical Tank. It's primary goal is to take a substantial amount of physical hits while dealing some decent damage. Flame Orb will burn Dodrio at the end of the turn. With Early Bird, Dodrio's sleep counter drops by 2 instead of 1. Facade's damage doubles when the user has a status affliction.

♦ Facade is a physical STAB-boosted 70-base power Normal-type move (power doubles if Dodrio is burn/poison/paralyzed).
