What is a good competitive moveset for Ferroseed? These builds have been optimized for Pokemon competing in X/Y Single Battles. The movesets and EVs have been specifically calibrated to deal the most amount of damage to the largest group of potentially common opponents and typing threats for the X/Y generation metagame.
Ferroseed is a decent Grass and Steel-typed Pokemon. Ferroseed is not a Pokemon anyone usually expects sees on the battlefield. This Pokemon deserves to see more play in the meta. Ferroseed's only type-related weaknesses are Fighting and Fire.

Physical Sweeper Ferroseed (Iron Barbs)
Ferroseed is a sensational Physical Sweeper. It is primarily designed to take down the opponent's team with brute physical power. Ferroseed is not a Pokemon anyone usually expects sees on the battlefield until it was realized Eviolite would make it quite viable. If Eviolite is held by a Pokémon that is not fully evolved, it will raises the Defense and Special Defense of that Pokemon by 50%. With Iron Barbs, pokemon making contact with Ferroseed lose 1/8 of their max hp.
♦ Metal Claw is a physical STAB-boosted 50-base power Steel-type move (10% chance to raise your Ferroseed's attack by 1 stage).
♦ Seed Bomb is a physical STAB-boosted 80-base power Grass-type move that deals a nice amount of damage.
♦ Bullet Seed is a physical STAB-boosted 25-base power Grass-type move (hits 2-5 times in one turn).
♦ Return is a physical 0-base power Normal-type move (max 102 power at maximum happiness).
♦ Secret Power is a physical 70-base power Normal-type move (effect varies with terrain. (30% paralysis chance)).
♦ Knock Off is a physical 65-base power Dark-type move (1.5x damage if foe holds an item; Note: This will also remove that item).
♦ Payback is a physical 50-base power Dark-type move (power doubles if your Ferroseed moves after the target).
