Walrein is an outstanding Special Tank. It's purpose is to take a hefty amount of hits from special attacks while dealing some decent damage. With Thick Fat, fire/ice-type moves against Walrein deal damage with a halved attacking stat. Very strong with high Hp but it lacks the Speed. Surf and Ice Beam are good for it to attack with hitting Flying, Dragon, Ground, Rock, Grass, and Fire with Super effective-ness. The next 2 moves are for it's recovery. If your Walrein gets low on Hp, Rest. The Chesto Berry will wake you up, that way you can continue to fight. If this happens again, you will be forced to use that last move. Snore them while your sleeping that way you can still cause them some pain, even if it's a little.
