Houndour is an interesting Dark and Fire-typed Pokemon. Houndour is not a Pokemon anyone usually expects sees on the battlefield. Houndour can be quite a contender in the LC tier (Little Cup). Houndour is weak to Fighting, Ground, Rock, and Water-typed attacks.
Houndour is a marvelous Special Sweeper. It was designed to take down the opponent's team with high-damaging special attacks. White Herb will reset Houndour's negative stat changes once (specifically for when it uses Overheat). Focus Sash helps protect Houndour from being one-shotted and allowing it to atleast use a crucial move when brought out. Life Orb boosts the power of Houndour's damaging moves by 1.3x but it then loses 1/10 its max HP immediately after the attack. With Flash Fire, Houndour's fire attacks do 1.5x damage if hit by one fire move; fire immunity.
