Monferno is an extraordinary Physical Sweeper. It's primary goal is to take down the opponent's team with brute physical power. White Herb will reset Monferno's negative stat changes once (specifically for when it uses Close Combat). Focus Sash helps protect Monferno from being one-shotted and allowing it to atleast use a crucial move when brought out. Life Orb boosts the power of Monferno's damaging moves by 1.3x but it then loses 1/10 its max HP immediately after the attack. With Iron Fist, Monferno's punch-based attacks have 1.2x power. sucker punch is not boosted. U-turn was added to provide additional threat coverage.

With Blaze, at 1/3 or less of its max hp Monferno's attacking stat is 1.5x with fire attacks. U-turn was added to provide additional threat coverage.
