Monferno is a stupendous Fire and Fighting-typed Pokemon. Monferno is not a Pokemon anyone usually expects sees on the battlefield. This Pokemon deserves to see more play in the meta. Monferno is weak to Flying, Ground, Psychic, and Water-typed attacks.

Physical Sweeper Monferno
Monferno is a marvelous Physical Sweeper. The purpose of this moveset is to take down the opponent's team with brute physical power. Focus Sash helps protect Monferno from being one-shotted and allowing it to atleast use a crucial move when brought out. Choice Band will increase the damage of Monferno's physical moves by 1.5x at the cost of locking you into the first move you pick. With Blaze, at 1/3 or less of its max hp Monferno's fire-type attacks have 1.5x power. U-turn was added to provide additional threat coverage.
♦ Flare Blitz is a physical STAB-boosted 120-base power Fire-type move (has 1/3 recoil. 10% chance to burn. thaws Monferno).
♦ Close Combat is a physical STAB-boosted 120-base power Fighting-type move (lowers your Monferno's defense and special defense by 1 stage).
♦ Brick Break is a physical STAB-boosted 75-base power Fighting-type move (destroys screens, even if the target is immune).
♦ Shadow Claw is a physical 70-base power Ghost-type move (high critical hit ratio).
♦ U-turn is a physical 70-base power Bug-type move (Monferno switches out after damaging the target).
♦ Return is a physical 0-base power Normal-type move (max 102 power at maximum happiness).

Life Orb boosts the power of Monferno's damaging moves by 1.3x but it then loses 1/10 its max HP immediately after the attack.
