Volbeat is a marvelous Physical Sweeper. It's goal is to take down the opponent's team with brute physical power. Focus Sash helps protect Volbeat from being one-shotted and allowing it to atleast use a crucial move when brought out. Choice Band will increase the damage of Volbeat's physical moves by 1.5x at the cost of locking you into the first move you pick. With Illuminate, no competitive use. Brick Break was added to provide additional threat coverage.

♦ U-turn is a physical STAB-boosted 70-base power Bug-type move (Volbeat switches out after damaging the target).
♦ Bug Bite is a physical STAB-boosted 60-base power Bug-type move (Volbeat steals and eats the target's berry).
♦ Ice Punch is a physical 75-base power Ice-type move (10% chance to freeze the target).
♦ Thunder Punch is a physical 75-base power Electric-type move (10% chance to paralyze the target).
