Celebi is a stupendous Psychic and Grass-typed Pokemon. Celebi are common Pokemon to see in the GS metagame. There were no known abilities back in the Gold/Silver Pokemon games. Celebi is weak to Bug, Dark, Fire, Flying, Ghost, Ice, and Poison-typed attacks.

Celebi is a legendary Physical Sweeper. It's purpose is to take down the opponent's team with brute physical power. In the dark days before Generation IV, a move's damage category was determined by its type.
♦ Hyper Beam is a physical 150-base power Normal-type move (Celebi cannot move next turn).
♦ Shadow Ball is a physical 80-base power Ghost-type move (20% chance to lower the target's special defense by 1 stage).
♦ Ancient Power is a physical 60-base power Rock-type move (10% chance to raise all stats by 1 stage (not acc/eva)).
♦ Mud-Slap is a physical 20-base power Ground-type move (100% chance to lower the target's accuracy by 1 stage).

♦ Solar Beam is a special STAB-boosted 120-base power Grass-type move (charges turn 1. hits turn 2. no charge in sunlight).
