What is a good competitive moveset for Graveler? These builds have been optimized for Pokemon competing in Gold/Silver Single Battles. The movesets and EVs have been specifically calibrated to deal the most amount of damage to the largest group of potentially common opponents and typing threats for the Gold/Silver generation metagame.
Graveler is a phenomenal Rock and Ground-typed Pokemon. Graveler is not a Pokemon anyone usually expects sees on the battlefield. There were no known abilities back in the Gold/Silver Pokemon games. Graveler is weak to Fighting, Grass, Ground, Ice, Steel, and Water-typed attacks.

Physical Sweeper Graveler (Retro)
Graveler is an interesting Physical Sweeper. It's meant to take down the opponent's team with brute physical power. Back before Generation IV, a move's damage category was determined by its type. Graveler is not a Pokemon anyone usually expects sees on the battlefield until Eviolite was attached to it. If Eviolite is held by a Pokémon that is not fully evolved, it will raises the Defense and Special Defense of that Pokemon by 50%. Focus Sash helps protect Graveler from being one-shotted and allowing it to atleast use a crucial move when brought out.
♦ Double-Edge is a physical 120-base power Normal-type move (has 1/4 recoil).
♦ Return is a physical 0-base power Normal-type move (max 102 power at maximum happiness).
♦ Rock Slide is a physical STAB-boosted 75-base power Rock-type move (30% chance to flinch the target).
♦ Rock Throw is a physical STAB-boosted 50-base power Rock-type move that deals damage.
♦ Seismic Toss is a physical 0-base power Fighting-type move (does damage equal to your Graveler's level).

Graveler Double Wall (The Rock)
Graveler is an astounding Double Wall. It attempts to have enough defenses and bulk to take both physical and special hits. Graveler is not a Pokemon anyone usually expects sees on the battlefield until Eviolite was attached to it. If Eviolite is held by a Pokémon that is not fully evolved, it will raises the Defense and Special Defense of that Pokemon by 50%. Defense-curl if you want Roll-out, Curse if you want Gyro-ball. Toxic is for Stalling. Protect is great with Toxic.

♦ Curse is a status move (curses if ghost, else -1 spe, +1 atk, +1 def).
