Golem is a fabulous Rock and Ground-typed Pokemon. It's super common to find yourself dealing with Golem when battling in the 2nd generation meta. Golem can usually be found in the OU tier (Overused). There were no known abilities back in the Gold/Silver Pokemon games. Golem is weak to Fighting, Grass, Ground, Ice, Steel, and Water-typed attacks.

Golem is a marvelous Physical Sweeper. It is meant to take down the opponent's team with brute physical power. In the old days before Generation IV, a move's damage category was determined by its type.
♦ Earthquake is a physical STAB-boosted 100-base power Ground-type move (power doubles on dig). ♦ Dig is a physical STAB-boosted 60-base power Ground-type move (digs underground turn 1, strikes turn 2). ♦ Double-Edge is a physical 120-base power Normal-type move (has 1/4 recoil). ♦ Return is a physical 0-base power Normal-type move (max 102 power at maximum happiness). ♦ Rock Slide is a physical STAB-boosted 75-base power Rock-type move (30% chance to flinch the target). ♦ Rock Throw is a physical STAB-boosted 50-base power Rock-type move that deals damage. ♦ Seismic Toss is a physical 0-base power Fighting-type move (does damage equal to your Golem's level). ♦ Rock Smash is a physical 20-base power Fighting-type move (50% chance to lower the target's defense by 1 stage).
