What is a good competitive moveset for Omastar? These builds have been optimized for Pokemon competing in Red/Blue Single Battles. Omastar is a spectacular Rock and Water-typed Pokemon. Omastar are common Pokemon to see in the RB metagame. Omastar is typically seen in the UU tier (Underused). There were no known abilities or equippable items back in the Red/Blue Pokemon games. Omastar is weak to Electric, Fighting, Ground, and Ice-typed attacks.
Omastar is an awesome Special Sweeper in single battles. It's primary goal is to take down the opponent's team with high-damaging special attacks. Things definately worked differently in the first generation. Keep in mind back before Generation IV, a move's damage category was determined by its type.
♦ Surf is a special STAB-boosted 95-base power Water-type move that deals a large amount of damage. ♦ Bubble Beam is a special STAB-boosted 65-base power Water-type move (33% chance to lower the target's speed by 1 stage). ♦ Blizzard is a special 120-base power Ice-type move (10% chance to freeze the target). ♦ Ice Beam is a special 95-base power Ice-type move (10% chance to freeze the target). ♦ Withdraw is a status move (raises your Omastar's defense by 1 stage). ♦ Toxic is a status move (badly poisons the target).
