Onix is an awesome Rock and Ground-typed Pokemon. Onix is a pretty regular Pokemon to see in Generation 1. There were no known abilities or equippable items back in the Red/Blue Pokemon games. Onix is weak to Fighting, Ground, Ice, Normal, and Water-typed attacks.

Physical Sweeper Onix (Retro)
Onix is an awesome Physical Sweeper in single battles. It's purpose is to take down the opponent's team with brute physical power. Things definately worked differently in the first generation. Before Generation IV, a move's damage category was determined by its type.
♦ Earthquake is a physical STAB-boosted 100-base power Ground-type move that deals a colossal amount of damage. ♦ Dig is a physical STAB-boosted 100-base power Ground-type move (digs underground turn 1, strikes turn 2). ♦ Rock Slide is a physical STAB-boosted 75-base power Rock-type move that deals damage. ♦ Double-Edge is a physical 100-base power Normal-type move (has 1/4 recoil). ♦ Body Slam is a physical 85-base power Normal-type move (30% chance to paralyze the target). ♦ Harden is a status move (raises your Onix's defense by 1 stage).
