Movesets for Singles

What is a good competitive moveset for Paras? These builds have been optimized for Pokemon competing in Red/Blue Single Battles. The movesets and EVs have been specifically calibrated to deal the most amount of damage to the largest group of potentially common opponents and typing threats for the Red/Blue generation metagame.

Paras is a spectacular Bug and Grass-typed Pokemon. Paras is not a Pokemon anyone usually expects sees on the battlefield. There were no known abilities or equippable items back in the Red/Blue Pokemon games. Paras is weak to Bug, Fire, Flying, Ice, Poison, and Rock-typed attacks.

Physical Sweeper Paras (Retro)

Paras is a marvelous Physical Sweeper. It is designed to take down the opponent's team with brute physical power. The game was competely different back in Generation 1. Don't forget back before Generation IV, a move's damage category was determined by its type.

Double-Edge is a physical 100-base power Normal-type move (has 1/4 recoil).
Body Slam is a physical 85-base power Normal-type move (30% chance to paralyze the target).
Dig is a physical 100-base power Ground-type move (digs underground turn 1, strikes turn 2).
Leech Life is a physical STAB-boosted 20-base power Bug-type move (Paras recovers 50% of the damage dealt).
Swords Dance is a status move (raises your Paras's attack by 2 stages).
