Cleffa stands out as an exceptional Special Sweeper in single battles. The intention of this moveset is to take down the opponent's team with lethal special power. Life Orb boosts the power of Cleffa's damaging moves by 1.3x but it then loses 1/10 its max HP immediately after the attack. However, Magic Guard negates the recoil damage from Life Orb while still increasing the damage making it an amazing item for Cleffa. With Magic Guard, Cleffa can only be damaged by direct attacks. With a Firium Z equipped to it, if Cleffa has a fire move, this item allows it to use a fire z-move.
