Explore the movesets of Larvitar below to understand its battle capabilities.
Species: Larvitar Item: Flame Orb / Rindo Berry Ability: Guts Nature: Adamant (+Atk, -SpA) EVs: 200 Hp / 252 Atk / 28 Def / 28 SpD Moveset: - Earthquake / Stomping Tantrum - Rock Slide / Iron Head - Superpower - Detect / Protect
Physical Sweeper Larvitar (Guts)
For single battles, Larvitar is a magnificent Physical Sweeper. It tries to take down the opponent's team with intense physical attacks. Flame Orb will burn Larvitar at the end of the turn which will activate Larvitar's Guts ability. Use Detect or Protect to help guarantee the Orb activates on your first turn. With Guts, if Larvitar is statused its attack is 1.5x; ignores burn halving physical damage. Rock Slide or Iron Head are added to provide additional threat coverage. With a Rindo Berry equipped to it, halves damage taken from a supereffective grass-type attack then the Rindo Berry gets consumed.
◆ Earthquake is a physical STAB-boosted 100-base power Ground-type move (hits adjacent pokemon). ◆ Stomping Tantrum is a physical STAB-boosted 75-base power Ground-type move (power doubles if your Larvitar's last move failed). ◆ Rock Slide is a physical STAB-boosted 75-base power Rock-type move (30% chance to make the foes flinch). ◆ Iron Head is a physical 80-base power Steel-type move (30% chance to make the target flinch). ◆ Superpower is a physical 120-base power Fighting-type move (lowers your Larvitar's attack and defense by 1 stage). ◆ Detect is a status move (prevents moves from affecting your Larvitar this turn). ◆ Protect is a status move (prevents moves from affecting your Larvitar this turn).
