What is a good competitive moveset for Vullaby? These builds have been optimized for Pokemon competing in Sword/Shield Single Battles. The movesets and EVs have been specifically calibrated to deal the most amount of damage to the largest group of potentially common opponents and typing threats for the Sword/Shield generation metagame.
Vullaby is a fabulous Dark and Flying-typed Pokemon. Vullaby is not a Pokemon anyone usually expects sees on the battlefield. Vullaby is weak to Electric, Fairy, Ice, and Rock-typed attacks.

Physical Sweeper Vullaby (Weak Armor)
Vullaby is an interesting Physical Sweeper for single battles. It was designed to take down the opponent's team with brute physical power. White Herb will reset Vullaby's negative stat changes once. Weakness Policy activates if Vullaby is hit by a super effective move. The Weakness Policy is consumed and its Attack and Special Attack are increased by two stages each. With Weak Armor, if a physical attack hits Vullaby it's defense is lowered by 1 and it's speed is increased by 2 stages. This ability also combos well with Lash Out, doubling it's power when Weak Armor is triggered. Rock Tomb was added to provide additional threat coverage.
◆ Knock Off is a physical STAB-boosted 65-base power Dark-type move (1.5x damage if foe holds an item; Note: This will also remove that item).
◆ Brave Bird is a physical STAB-boosted 120-base power Flying-type move (has 33% recoil).
◆ Dual Wingbeat is a physical STAB-boosted 40-base power Flying-type move (hits 2 times in one turn).
◆ U-turn is a physical 70-base power Bug-type move (Vullaby switches out after damaging the target).
◆ Rock Tomb is a physical 60-base power Rock-type move (100% chance to lower the target's speed by 1 stage).
◆ Retaliate is a physical 70-base power Normal-type move (power doubles if an ally fainted last turn).

Vullaby Special Tank (Vullasweep)
Vullaby is a remarkable Special Tank for single battles. The purpose of this moveset is to take a mighty amount of hits from special attacks while dealing some decent damage. Life Orb boosts the power of Vullaby's damaging moves by 1.3x but it then loses 1/10 its max HP immediately after the attack. With Overcoat, Vullaby is immune to powder moves and damage from sandstorm or hail.
