The movesets and EVs have been specifically calibrated to deal the most amount of damage to the largest group of potentially common opponents and typing threats for the X/Y generation metagame.
Vullaby is a phenomenal Dark and Flying-typed Pokemon. Vullaby is not a Pokemon anyone usually expects sees on the battlefield. Vullaby is weak to Electric, Fairy, Ice, and Rock-typed attacks.

Physical Sweeper Vullaby (Weak Armor)
Vullaby is an extraordinary Physical Sweeper. It's goal is to take down the opponent's team with brute physical power. White Herb will reset Vullaby's negative stat changes once. Focus Sash helps protect Vullaby from being one-shotted and allowing it to atleast use a crucial move when brought out. With Weak Armor, if a physical attack hits Vullaby it's defense is lowered by 1 and it's speed is increased by 2 stages. Rock Tomb was added to provide additional threat coverage.
♦ Pluck is a physical STAB-boosted 60-base power Flying-type move (Vullaby steals and eats the target's berry).
♦ Knock Off is a physical STAB-boosted 65-base power Dark-type move (1.5x damage if foe holds an item; Note: This will also remove that item).
♦ Foul Play is a physical STAB-boosted 95-base power Dark-type move (uses target's attack stat in damage calculation).
♦ Rock Tomb is a physical 60-base power Rock-type move (100% chance to lower the target's speed by 1 stage).
♦ Return is a physical 0-base power Normal-type move (max 102 power at maximum happiness).
♦ U-turn is a physical 70-base power Bug-type move (Vullaby switches out after damaging the target).

Vullaby is an awesome Special Sweeper. It's purpose is to take down the opponent's team with high-damaging special attacks. White Herb will reset Vullaby's negative stat changes once. Life Orb boosts the power of Vullaby's damaging moves by 1.3x but it then loses 1/10 its max HP immediately after the attack. With Weak Armor, if a physical attack hits Vullaby it's defense is lowered by 1 and it's speed is increased by 2 stages.

♦ Air Slash is a special STAB-boosted 75-base power Flying-type move (30% chance to flinch the target).

Vullaby Special Tank (Vullasweep)
Vullaby is pretty popular Special Tank. It attempts to take a large amount of hits from special attacks while dealing some decent damage. Life Orb boosts the power of Vullaby's damaging moves by 1.3x but it then loses 1/10 its max HP immediately after the attack. With Overcoat, Vullaby is immune to powder moves and damage from sandstorm or hail.
