Lugia is a sensational Psychic and Flying-typed Pokemon. It's not-uncommon to see Lugia show up as a Gold/Silver opponent. There were no known abilities back in the Gold/Silver Pokemon games. Lugia is weak to Dark, Electric, Ghost, Ice, and Rock-typed attacks.

Lugia is a legendary Physical Sweeper. It's goal is to take down the opponent's team with brute physical power. Keep in mind back before Generation IV, a move's damage category was determined by its type.
♦ Return is a physical 0-base power Normal-type move (max 102 power at maximum happiness).
♦ Strength is a physical 80-base power Normal-type move that deals a considerable amount of damage.
♦ Earthquake is a physical 100-base power Ground-type move (power doubles on dig).
♦ Shadow Ball is a physical 80-base power Ghost-type move (20% chance to lower the target's special defense by 1 stage).
