What is a good competitive moveset for Diglett? These builds have been optimized for Pokemon competing in Sword/Shield Single Battles. The movesets and EVs have been specifically calibrated to deal the most amount of damage to the largest group of potentially common opponents and typing threats for the Sword/Shield generation metagame.
Diglett is a pretty decent Ground-typed Pokemon. Diglett is not a Pokemon anyone usually expects sees on the battlefield. Diglett can be quite a contender in the LC tier (Little Cup). Diglett is weak to Grass, Ice, and Water-typed attacks.

Diglett is pretty popular Physical Sweeper for single battles. It is primarily designed to take down the opponent's team with brute physical power. Focus Sash helps protect Diglett from being one-shotted and allowing it to atleast use a crucial move when brought out. Choice Band will increase the damage of Diglett's physical moves by 1.5x at the cost of locking you into the first move you pick. With Sand Force, Diglett's ground/rock/steel attacks do 1.3x in sandstorm; immunity to it.
◆ Stomping Tantrum is a physical STAB-boosted 75-base power Ground-type move (power doubles if your Diglett's last move failed).
◆ Double-Edge is a physical 120-base power Normal-type move (has 33% recoil).
◆ Slash is a physical 70-base power Normal-type move (high critical hit ratio).

Choice Band will increase the damage of Diglett's physical moves by 1.5x at the cost of locking you into the first move you pick. With Arena Trap, prevents adjacent foes from choosing to switch unless they are airborne. Rock Slide was added to provide additional threat coverage.
