What is a good competitive moveset for Arbok? These builds have been optimized for Pokemon competing in X/Y Single Battles. The movesets and EVs have been specifically calibrated to deal the most amount of damage to the largest group of potentially common opponents and typing threats for the X/Y generation metagame.
Arbok is pretty popular Poison-typed Pokemon. It's a pretty regular sight to see Arbok out in the 6th generation battlefield. Arbok's only type-related weaknesses are Ground and Psychic.

Arbok is a wonderful Physical Sweeper. It's designed to take down the opponent's team with brute physical power. Focus Sash helps protect Arbok from being one-shotted and allowing it to atleast use a crucial move when brought out. Choice Band will increase the damage of Arbok's physical moves by 1.5x at the cost of locking you into the first move you pick. With Intimidate, on switch-in Arbok lowers the attack of adjacent opponents by 1 stage. Sucker Punch was added to provide additional threat coverage.

♦ Sucker Punch is a physical priority-increased 80-base power Dark-type move (usually goes first. fails if target is not attacking).

♦ Earthquake is a physical 100-base power Ground-type move (hits adjacent pokemon).
♦ Aqua Tail is a physical 90-base power Water-type move that deals a hefty amount of damage.

Arbok is an outstanding Special Wall. This moveset is designed to take a hefty amount of hits from special attacks while dealing some decent damage. With Shed Skin, Arbok has a 33% chance to have its status cured at the end of each turn.
♦ Gunk Shot is a physical STAB-boosted 120-base power Poison-type move (30% chance to poison the target).
♦ Rest is a status move (Arbok sleeps 2 turns and restores hp and status).
