What is a good competitive moveset for Aron? These builds have been optimized for Pokemon competing in Ruby/Sapphire Single Battles. The movesets and EVs have been specifically calibrated to deal the most amount of damage to the largest group of potentially common opponents and typing threats for the Ruby/Sapphire generation metagame.
Aron is popular Steel and Rock-typed Pokemon. Aron is not a Pokemon anyone usually expects sees on the battlefield. Aron can be quite a contender in the LC tier (Little Cup). Aron is weak to Fighting, Ground, and Water-typed attacks.

Physical Sweeper Aron (Rock Head)
Aron is a decent Physical Sweeper. It attempts to take down the opponent's team with brute physical power. In the dark days before Generation IV, a move's damage category was determined by its type. With Rock Head, Aron does not take recoil damage besides struggle/life orb/crash damage.
♦ Return is a physical 0-base power Normal-type move (max 102 power at maximum happiness).
♦ Rock Slide is a physical STAB-boosted 75-base power Rock-type move (30% chance to flinch the foes).
♦ Rollout is a physical STAB-boosted 30-base power Rock-type move (power doubles with each hit. repeats for 5 turns).
♦ Earthquake is a physical 100-base power Ground-type move (hits adjacent pokemon. power doubles on dig).

Aron Support (Lv.1 Aron Troll *)
Aron is an interesting Support. In the dark days before Generation IV, a move's damage category was determined by its type. With Sturdy, ohko moves fail when used against Aron. Breed Aron and keep it at Level 1. For this to work properly it's a good idea to setup a Sandstorm ahead of time (preferably with Tyranitar or Hippowdon are favorable choices). The Shell Bell will fully heal Aron each time it attacks hereby resetting it's Sturdy ability for the next OHKO attempt.
♦ Endeavor is a physical 0-base power Normal-type move (lowers the target's hp to your Aron's hp).
♦ Sandstorm is a status move (for 5 turns, a sandstorm rages).
♦ Protect is a status move (prevents moves from affecting your Aron this turn).
♦ Toxic is a status move (badly poisons the target).
