Heracross is a spectacular Physical Sweeper. It attempts to take down the opponent's team with brute physical power. Flame Orb will burn Heracross at the end of the turn which will activate Heracross's Guts ability. Use Protect to help guarantee the Orb activates on your first turn. With Guts, if Heracross is statused its attack is 1.5x; ignores burn halving physical damage. Shadow Claw or Bug Bite are added to provide additional threat coverage.

♦ Shadow Claw is a physical 70-base power Ghost-type move (high critical hit ratio).

Choice Scarf will increase Heracross's speed by 1.5x but will lock you into the first move you pick. With Moxie, Heracross's attack is raised by 1 stage if it attacks and koes another pokemon.
♦ Night Slash is a physical 70-base power Dark-type move (high critical hit ratio).
♦ Close Combat is a physical STAB-boosted 120-base power Fighting-type move (lowers your Heracross's defense and special defense by 1 stage).
