Choice Scarf will increase Heracross's speed by 1.5x but will lock you into the first move you pick. Flame Orb will burn Heracross at the end of the turn. With Moxie, Heracross's attack is raised by 1 stage if it attacks and koes another pokemon.

Heracross is popular Physical Sweeper. It was designed to take down the opponent's team with brute physical power. Flame Orb will burn Heracross at the end of the turn which will activate Heracross's Guts ability. Use Detect or Protect to help guarantee the Orb activates on your first turn. With Guts, if Heracross is statused its attack is 1.5x; ignores burn halving physical damage. Shadow Claw or Bug Bite are added to provide additional threat coverage.
