Get ready to meet Shuckle, the awesome Bug and Rock-typed Pokémon! Shuckle is a common Pokémon to see in the GS metagame. It's an underrated pick that could surprise many in the meta. There were no known abilities back in the Gold/Silver Pokémon games. It is weak to Rock, Steel, and Water-typed attacks. Explore the movesets of Shuckle below to understand its battle capabilities.
Dominating single battles, Shuckle is a stunning Special Sweeper. This moveset was constructed to take down the opponent's team with lethal special power. In the old days before Generation IV, a move's damage category was determined by its type. Leftovers are always a great recovery option to ensure Shuckle last longer regaining it's health points every turn.
◆ Defense Curl is a status move (raises your Shuckle's defense by 1 stage). ◆ Rest is a status move (Shuckle sleeps 2 turns and restores hp and status). ◆ Sleep Talk is a status move (Shuckle must be asleep. Uses another known move). ◆ Toxic is a status move (badly poisons the target).
Note: This moveset is vulnerable to Taunt. Ensure you include at least one damage-dealing move to avoid this risk.

Shuckle stands out as pretty popular Physical Sweeper in single battles. This moveset was constructed to overwhelm foes with potent physical attacks. Remember before Generation IV, a move's damage category was determined by its type. With a Gold Berry equipped to it, restores 30 hp when at 1/2 max hp or less then the Gold Berry gets consumed.
◆ Return is a physical 0-base power Normal-type move (max 102 power at maximum happiness). ◆ Strength is a physical 80-base power Normal-type move that deals a hefty amount of damage. ◆ Earthquake is a physical 100-base power Ground-type move (power doubles on dig). ◆ Dig is a physical 60-base power Ground-type move (digs underground turn 1, strikes turn 2). ◆ Sludge Bomb is a physical 90-base power Poison-type move (30% chance to poison the target). ◆ Rollout is a physical STAB-boosted 30-base power Rock-type move (power doubles with each hit. Repeats for 5 turns).

Note: The damage listed here under Versus is not actually calculated using the in-game damage formula. It is simply calculated using typing weaknesses and resistances from the selected type-matchup modifier along with STAB (if applied) to help sort through and give a general idea as to how powerful certain moves might be towards that selected typing after modifiers are applied. Several moves listed here may have additional effects that might alter actual damage output which are not factored on this specific list. Use damage calculators to find actual damage amounts.
