What is a good competitive moveset for Hypno? These builds have been optimized for Pokemon competing in Red/Blue Single Battles. The movesets and EVs have been specifically calibrated to deal the most amount of damage to the largest group of potentially common opponents and typing threats for the Red/Blue generation metagame.
Hypno is an awesome Psychic-typed Pokemon. It's a frequent sight to see Hypno out in the 1st generation battlefield. There were no known abilities or equippable items back in the Red/Blue Pokemon games. Hypno's only type-related weakness is Bug.
Hypno is a sensational Support in single battles. Things definately worked differently in the first generation. Remember prior to Generation IV, a move's damage category was determined by its type.

Hypno is popular Special Sweeper in single battles. It's primary goal is to take down the opponent's team with high-damaging special attacks. The game was competely different back in Generation 1. Back before Generation IV, a move's damage category was determined by its type.
