Slowbro is a fabulous Water and Psychic-typed Pokemon. It's normal to find yourself dealing with Slowbro when battling in the 1st generation meta. There were no known abilities or equippable items back in the Red/Blue Pokemon games. Slowbro is weak to Bug, Electric, and Grass-typed attacks.
