Physical Sweeper Pikachu (Retro)
Pikachu proves to be an exquisite Physical Sweeper for single battles. It tries to overwhelm foes with overwhelming physical moves. Gen1 meta was a totally different monster. In the old days before Generation IV, a move's damage category was determined by its type.
◆ Double-Edge is a physical 100-base power Normal-type move (has 1/4 recoil). ◆ Body Slam is a physical 85-base power Normal-type move (30% chance to paralyze the target). ◆ Seismic Toss is a physical 1-base power Fighting-type move (damage = Pikachu's level. Can hit ghost types). ◆ Fly is a physical 70-base power Flying-type move (flies up on first turn, then strikes the next turn). ◆ Thunder Wave is a status move (paralyzes the target).

In single battles, Pikachu's Special Sweeper role is an exquisite. It is primarily designed to crush rivals using potent special moves. The original meta-game back in the RBY days was ridiculous. In the dark days prior to Generation IV, a move's damage category was determined by its type.
◆ Thunderbolt is a special STAB-boosted 95-base power Electric-type move (10% chance to paralyze the target). ◆ Thunder Shock is a special STAB-boosted 40-base power Electric-type move (10% chance to paralyze the target). ◆ Surf is a special 95-base power Water-type move that deals a good amount of damage. ◆ Thunder Wave is a status move (paralyzes the target). ◆ Light Screen is a status move (while active, Pikachu's special is 2x when damaged).

Note: The damage listed here under Versus is not actually calculated using the in-game damage formula. It is simply calculated using typing weaknesses and resistances from the selected type-matchup modifier along with STAB (if applied) to help sort through and give a general idea as to how powerful certain moves might be towards that selected typing after modifiers are applied. Several moves listed here may have additional effects that might alter actual damage output which are not factored on this specific list. Use damage calculators to find actual damage amounts.
