Charizard is a wonderful Fire and Flying-typed Pokemon. It's pretty standard to see Charizard show up as a Ruby/Sapphire opponent. Charizard can usually be found in the OU tier (Overused). Charizard is weak to Electric, Rock, and Water-typed attacks.

Charizard is an astounding Special Sweeper. It's designed to take down the opponent's team with high-damaging special attacks. In the dark days prior to Generation IV, a move's damage category was determined by its type. Leftovers are always a great recovery option to ensure Charizard last longer regaining it's it's life every turn. With Blaze, at 1/3 or less of its max hp Charizard's fire-type attacks have 1.5x power.

With Blaze, at 1/3 or less of its max hp Charizard's fire-type attacks have 1.5x power.
