Tangela is a stupendous Grass-typed Pokemon. Tangela is not a Pokemon anyone usually expects sees on the battlefield. Tangela is weak to Bug, Fire, Flying, Ice, and Poison-typed attacks.

Nature: Modest (+SpA, -Atk)
EVs: 44 Hp / 252 SpA / 212 SpD

Special Sweeper Tangela (Chlorophyll)
Tangela is a wonderful Special Sweeper. It was designed to take down the opponent's team with high-damaging special attacks. Life Orb boosts the power of Tangela's damaging moves by 1.3x but it then loses 1/10 its max HP immediately after the attack. With Chlorophyll, Tangela's speed is doubled during sunny weather. Confusion was added to provide additional threat coverage.
♦ Energy Ball is a special STAB-boosted 90-base power Grass-type move (10% chance to lower the target's special defense by 1 stage).
♦ Sludge Bomb is a special 90-base power Poison-type move (30% chance to poison the target).

♦ Hyper Beam is a special 150-base power Normal-type move (Tangela cannot move next turn).

Tangela Special Wall (Regeneration X)
Tangela is pretty popular Special Wall. It is primarily designed to take a decent amount of hits from special attacks while dealing some decent damage. Leftovers are always a great recovery option to ensure Tangela last longer regaining it's health every turn. With Regenerator, Tangela restores 1/3 of its maximum hp rounded down when it switches out.
♦ Pain Split is a status move (shares hp of Tangela and target equally).
♦ Substitute is a status move (Tangela takes 1/4 its max hp to put in a substitute).
♦ Reflect is a status move (for 5 turns, physical damage to allies is halved).
