Steelix is a stupendous Steel and Ground-typed Pokemon. Steelix are common Pokemon to see in the SM metagame. This Pokemon deserves to see more play in the meta. Steelix is weak to Fighting, Fire, Ground, and Water-typed attacks.

Physical Wall Steelix (Popular/Trending)
Steelix is a marvelous Physical Wall. It's purpose is to take a large amount of physical hits while dealing some decent damage. Leftovers are always a great recovery option to ensure Steelix last longer regaining it's health every turn. Weakness Policy activates if Steelix is hit by a super effective move. The Weakness Policy is consumed and its Attack and Special Attack are increased by two stages each. With Sturdy, if Steelix is at full hp it survives one hit with at least 1 hp. immune to ohko.
♦ Heavy Slam is a physical STAB-boosted 0-base power Steel-type move (more power the heavier your Steelix than the target).
♦ Roar is a status move (forces the target to switch to a random ally).
♦ Stealth Rock is a status move (hurts foes on switch-in. factors rock weakness).

Physical Sweeper Steelix (Sheer Force)
Steelix is a pretty decent Physical Sweeper. This moveset attempts to take down the opponent's team with brute physical power. Life Orb boosts the power of Steelix's damaging moves by 1.3x but it then loses 1/10 its max HP immediately after the attack. However, Sheer Force negates the recoil damage from Life Orb while still increasing the damage from both it's ability and the orb making it an amazing item for Steelix. With Sheer Force, Steelix's attacks with secondary effects have 1.3x power; nullifies the effects. Rock Slide or Thunder Fang are added to provide additional threat coverage.
♦ Stomping Tantrum is a physical STAB-boosted 75-base power Ground-type move (power doubles if your Steelix's last move failed).
♦ Rock Slide is a physical 75-base power Rock-type move (30% chance to flinch the foes).
♦ Thunder Fang is a physical 65-base power Electric-type move (10% chance to paralyze. 10% chance to flinch).
♦ Iron Head is a physical STAB-boosted 80-base power Steel-type move (30% chance to flinch the target).
♦ Aqua Tail is a physical 90-base power Water-type move that deals a considerable amount of damage.
