What is a good competitive moveset for Starmie? These builds have been optimized for Pokemon competing in Red/Blue Single Battles. The movesets and EVs have been specifically calibrated to deal the most amount of damage to the largest group of potentially common opponents and typing threats for the Red/Blue generation metagame.
Starmie is an outstanding Water and Psychic-typed Pokemon. It's pretty standard to find yourself dealing with Starmie when battling in the 1st generation meta. Starmie can usually be found in the OU tier (Overused). There were no known abilities or equippable items back in the Red/Blue Pokemon games. Starmie is weak to Bug, Electric, and Ground-typed attacks.
Starmie is popular Support in single battles. Things definately worked differently in the first generation. Back before Generation IV, a move's damage category was determined by its type.
